St Trillo’s Chapel

Down by the sea, tucked away alongside the road is the most beautiful little chapel; one I have known since childhood.

St Trillo’s is a 6th century Chapel built over a pre-Christian spring, in fact the altar sits right over the well, which is still full of Holy water, dedicated to St Trillo and St Elidan.

Inside, it’s tiny – only room for six seats, making it the smallest Chapel in the UK. The stillness and silence is a haven in the bustle of this world – it’s hard to think the coast road (Marine Drive) is just above it.

The views are breath taking.

According to Catholic Online, today, June 15th is his feast day.

Sadly, other than that, it would seem little else is recorded about St Trillo :/

Even less about St Elidan…

So I shall leave you with the photo’s to savour the place which is well worth a visit if you are in North Wales.
